With the Kellogg's Cereal recall, breakfast this Saturday morning just wasn't the same. While my wife tried to console my tearful four year old because she couldn't eat Froot Loops, my Saturday morning consisted of a round of shopping at the local grocery store rather than a round of golf at the local country club.
My wife and I had to do creative parenting, placing off-brand Kellogg's Froot Loops in the empty Froot Loop box, hoping that our daughter wouldn't notice the difference.
My mind flashed back, and I remembered a similar trip I took a few weeks ago. Our eight month old had a fever and we realized the only thing we had in the house was the recalled Children's Motrin. A trip to the 24 hour Walgreen's bought us generic medicines, and J&J forever lost our business.
If it weren't for that silly Toucan on the front of the box, or if my four year old daughter saw the world like an adult, Kellogg's would have lost our business too.
Curious as to what is included in the newly expanded Kellogg's cereal recall? Various packages of Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, and Honey Smacks are included. The products are defective because of a strange odor coming from the lining of the cereal box, as well as a funny taste. The recall was voluntary because the products "don't meet quality standards."
